Yes Folks. This is about JAZZ

JAZZ - 4 Letters that make up one of the biggest words in music.

JAZZ - The most creative music the world has know. Music that draws on the best from other musical styles and, as with all great music, gives back its own inspirations to everyone who listens to it.

But, what is jazz? If thats a question you're asking, take a look around this site. Just one thing though, you may not find a simple answer. Jazz doesn't fit well into boundaries the way other musical styles do. In just over 100 years it has grown, changed and adapted in a way its early practitioners could never have imagined.

And what practitioners! Great names leap to mind. Names like Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington. And we're only just getting started.

Jazz has a freedom that has always attracted more than its fair share of the most creative musicians. It challenges the very best and the very best rise to the challenge. It's not always the easiest music to listen to. But the effort is well worth it.

Jazz can mean many things to many people. From a beat that seems to give your feet a life of their own to a blues melody that brings tears to your eyes. It's all in Jazz.

We won't stop there though. As the site grows we'll find out about music that has grown from and been influenced by Jazz; Soul, Rhythm & Blues, Swing, Rock, even some pop music. (Although we may need to be a bit careful on that one.)
